I have an idea (ok, many ideas)…..
… and the New Year is all about new ideas. Some may not be so new, but maybe new to me or new for me to actually implement. (It’s one thing to have an idea, but quite another to put it into action.)
Before starting the new, it’s important to look back for ‘old times sake’, Auld Lang Syne.
What is the meaning of this New Year’s Eve Song? Auld Lang Syne is about old friends who have parted and meet again. To celebrate their long friendship, they share a drink together and reminisce of memories from long ago. The basic message is that we should not forget our old friends and should celebrate a reunion with them.
I am so thankful to be able to reconnect with those I have been out-of-touch with. After reminiscing the past, there’s a tendency to reassess before looking forward.
“We spend January 1st walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives… not looking for flaws, but for potential.” — Ellen Goodman
The potential is where the ideas come in; stay tuned. :)
I’m heavy on the quotes this post, so now you can quote me: Warm wishes for a wonderfully Happy New Year!!
